Name: Jon Baker
Job Title: Commercial Director
Nickname: JB

How many Bournemouth 7s festivals do you have under your belt?
6

In 10 words, what is your job role?
Commercial Director, Sponsors, Partners, Sports, General Admin stuff, and more.

What do you do for the rest of the year?
Summer is busy in terms of having input in relaunching the website, but then also teeing up sponsors for when everything goes live in September. Also, I tend to be busy at all team entry or upgrades deadlines, and then pretty much from January when sponsors are starting to look at their budgets I’m flat out in meetings getting deals secured for the festival.

Favourite Bournemouth 7s moment?
Probably for me, 2018 when we had the Army Parachute Display. It was perfect weather, the crowd was huge and once the display team were done they got to have beer and experience the festival. They loved it!

What is your signature dish?
I make good enchiladas. Spicy and barbeque-y. Delicious!

What is/was your preferred sport?
Rugby all day long.

If there was an olympic sport for everyday activities, what would you have the most chance of winning a medal in?
Data inputting.

What was the last show you binge watched?
Gavin and Stacey.

What’s the silliest fear you have?
It’s not really a fear, but on escalators where the service flaps are, I always have a vision saying ‘what happens if that goes down?’

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen?
I really want to say Cats, and I haven’t even seen it. I’ll say Good Luck Chuck – It was on TV last week and it was terrible.

If you could choose one act, past or present, to perform at Bournemouth 7s, who would it be?
Matoma
